A Message from the Foundation’s
Board of Directors
When the DC Students Construction Trades
Foundation opened the Academy of Construction and Design in
2005, our public-private partnership brought skilled trades
back to District schools and created the first new construction
education classrooms in nearly four decades. From our initial
discussions with school officials, we envisioned the Academy’s
training curriculum would include professionally supervised
building projects to help students gain skills and experience.
Over a decade of industry outreach and workforce
training, we have helped CTE students achieve great things.
If you have contributed to the Foundation’s efforts,
you have touched the lives of many students. We are grateful
for your generous support. Your continued involvement will
allow us to multiply the powerful effect of mentoring. And,
if you are getting acquainted with our mission and programs
for the first time, will you join us? Help us teach students
how to build a bright future in skilled careers.
